The purchase price of electricity rises again: In the week from Monday 25 to Sunday 31 July, GME recorded an average purchase price of electricity (PUN) of 496.77 € / MWh, an increase compared to 483 euros registered in the previous week.

The volumes of electricity traded directly on the GME stock exchange - a note reads - "amounted to 4.5 million MWh, with liquidity at 69.8%. Average sales prices varied between € 473.40 / MWh of Calabria and Sicily and € 507.36 / MWh of North and Center North ".

"From today how much wholesale cost a thousand kilowatt hours? Over 500 euros. Do you know how much they cost a year ago? Just over 60 euros".

So

Gianpiero Santini, CEO of Genesi Solutions.

"With skyrocketing prices, the system falters - adds Santini. But, in this game to the massacre, there are winners and losers. The main loser is the consumer and, with him, those companies that supply energy".

"Electricity, the traditional one, is produced - Santini recalls - mainly thanks to natural gas. The companies that carry out this service do so on the basis of contracts for the purchase of gas that are multi-year. This means that the energy produced today has certainly higher costs than those of a year ago. But when you go to wholesale it to those who supply it, well the earnings are almost tenfold ".

"This means - adds

Francesco Cerrone who is the general manager of Genesi Solutions -

that energy producing companies record ten times higher margins.

The winners are undoubtedly them ".

The supply chain is clear.

Companies produce energy with little burden but earn much more.

And this is because the market has brought the cost per kilowatt hour to figures that were unthinkable until recently.

Hence the alarm:

"Companies that do not produce energy but limit themselves to supply it are victims as much as consumers - says Cerrone.

But absurdly they have fewer defenses.

Consumers have as their weapon to limit the use of energy or in any case to change their lifestyle, in order to manage it as a good family man would do.

Today, however, we buy energy, anticipating large sums of money, and then we must hope to recover, with the right earnings, what has already been paid.

However, often and willingly, the consumer, due to the current crisis, is unable to be punctual in payments, often resorting to installment repayment plans that lengthen the times.

The risk is to bring the entire sector to its knees, which employs over 30,000 people. "

"The solution that satisfies everyone - Santini and Cerrone conclude - is the

energy community,

an association of users who share all the energy they produce, from renewable sources, in order to cover their simultaneous energy needs regardless of the physical connection to the production facilities ".
