(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 02 - "The PNRR makes 2.4 billion available to the tourism sector: 1% of all resources foreseen for Italy. A little bit given that the sector represents 13% of GDP; and is driving the recovery of this year, as certified by the International Monetary Fund, according

to the Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia who, in two separate webinairs, met with the trade associations of the hotel sector.

"For these reasons - he continues - I have repeatedly intervened with the Minister of Economy Daniele Franco to orient resources on PnrrTurismo that would otherwise not be used by other administrations. One case above all: the tax credit for the modernization of accommodation facilities had a fund from 600 million, then raised to 700, in the face of requests for 3 billion euros. Waiting for new funds from the Mef - Garavaglia announces - the Ministry of Tourism is diverting over 300 million to the tax credit, using its own resources already in the budget ".

"Our category welcomes the announcement made by the Minister of Tourism during our webinar on the theme of incentives for hotel businesses contained in the Pnrr.

We greatly appreciate the activity carried out by the minister to recover additional resources in support of hospitality "comments the president of Federalberghi, Bernabo Bocca." Once again the tourism sector is not taken into due consideration - says the president of Assoturismo VittorioMessina - if proportional funding were assigned to what, in terms of GDP, tourism determines, we would be able to give an extraordinary impulse and make the Italian economy fly in a moment, like the one we are going through, of strong economic tensions and uncertainty.

"Unfortunately - Messina underlines - there are still many" tax credits "approved but stuck due to difficulties linked to practical implementation: it is necessary to unblock them as soon as possible, the companies in the sector require the utmost attention to consolidate the recovery".
