Walkers crossed the path of the actor, in the middle of filming an action scene at the top of the cliff High Crag, near Worthington, on Sunday July 31.

He apologized, before jumping off the cliff.

Sarah and Jason Haygarth, a couple of hikers, have indeed recounted in the columns of the

Sun

their impromptu meeting with Tom Cruise, which occurred on Sunday July 31.

The actor, dressed all in black, was filming a

Mission Impossible 8

stunt at the top of High Crag, near Worthington, England.

Arrived by helicopter, the actor made his

mea culpa

for this deafening entrance.

"Sorry to disturb your peaceful hike with all this noise," he told walkers.

I like your dog."

Sarah Haygarth then questioned him: "Are you really going to jump?"

The actor nodded and replied, in “Olympian calm”: “See you later, friends.”

Before plunging into the void in a paraglider.

The “Height of Cool”

Videos of his exploits subsequently circulated on social media.

Among them, that of Charlotte Burton-Delph, a hiker who was then strolling around Lake Buttermere, overlooked by the High Crag, with her family.

The walker thus saw, above their heads, a very serene Tom Cruise, in the middle of a paragliding session.

"I've been around Lake Buttermere quite a few times, but meeting Tom Cruise on a paraglider for the filming of

Mission Impossible

is the height of cool," she wrote in the caption of the sequence, posted on Twitter.

The video of this unexpected meeting has since been viewed more than a million times.
