The channel will commemorate the host who distinguished himself on the show "Ça se discusses" at the end of the 90s and in the 2000s.

Ten years later, the channel remembers.

TF1 will broadcast on August 24 in the first part of the evening a documentary entitled "Jean-Luc Delarue, 10 years already: success in excess", on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the emblematic and controversial host-producer, the channel announced on Tuesday.

This program will be produced by Reservoir Prod, the company created by Jean-Luc Delarue.

He died of stomach and peritoneal cancer at the age of 48 on August 23, 2012, when his career had been interrupted by a cocaine affair.

A career mainly carried out on France 2, although it is TF1 which broadcasts this anniversary program.

"To tell Jean-Luc Delarue is to tell several lives, the ambivalence of the publicly strong, powerful and ambitious character, but ultrasensitive and tortured in intimacy", indicates TF1 in a press release.

A fate ruined by addiction

Considered as gifted, Jean-Luc Delarue left his mark on television with the innovative side of his programs centered on empathy around the testimony of anonymous people, in the forefront of which "Ça se discusses", programmed on France 2 from 1994 to 2009 .

On the air, his rapid, almost mechanical diction, his assurance, his ease and his eternal earpiece were his trademark.

But over the years, his addictions to alcohol and drugs had been the cause of several slippages.

Reservoir Prod productions have spread to all channels, including "C'est mon chose" on France 3 from 1999 and "Live my life" on TF1 in 2001.

In 1996, Jean-Luc Delarue was at the heart of a controversy over the fabulous contracts of the animators-producers of France 2, accused of plundering the funds of the public service.
