The free streaming service "Amazon Freevee" is launched in Germany.

Kassel – With Amazon Prime Video, the online retailer already offers its customers a wide range of films and series.
However, the platform is not free and only available to Prime members.
That's why Amazon is now launching a new streaming service on Wednesday (3 August) and some consumers will have already discovered it on the company's website.
It is Amazon Freevee.
This service is to be financed entirely by advertising and therefore remain free of charge for users.
New streaming service: Amazon Freevee should remain completely free
The US Internet company announced that films and series will be shown at no additional cost, but with commercial breaks.
In the US and UK, Germany is now the third country where Amazon Freevee is available.
Selected films such as "Fast and Furious 9", the crime series "Bosch: Legacy" or TV formats such as "Hell's Kitchen" can also be accessed without a Prime account.

With such an offer, Amazon wants to assert itself against competing streaming providers such as Netflix or Disney+, which rely on subscription models.
An Amazon spokesman told the German Press Agency: "We offer users an offer that they would typically expect behind a paywall." It is a mix of our own productions, external films and series.
Amazon Freevee should also be usable in other countries: Austria could follow at a later date.

In addition to the shopping event in summer, the online group is also planning to organize a Prime Day in autumn 2022.
