A certain exotic spice mixture carries the risk of salmonella disease.
Now the distributor has to initiate a food recall.
Biebesheim - Dried fenugreek leaves are a popular food seasoning, especially in Asia.
Now there is a recall of the aromatic specialty in Germany: The company Global Foods Trading from Biebesheim (district Großgerau in southern Hesse) has recalled such a product due to a possible salmonella contamination.
As the distributor with expertise in food from the Southeast Asian region reports, the product "Schani Kassori Methi" with the batch number 19FEB22X1/1 and the best-before date of January 2024 is affected, and there are two different pack sizes: 100 grams and one kilogram.
A similar case involving a Dutch distributor only became known a few weeks ago.

Food recall poses a risk of salmonella - serious illnesses threaten
A salmonella disease manifests itself within a few days after infection with diarrhoea, abdominal pain and occasional vomiting and a slight fever, according to the consumer

However, the following also applies to this food recall: Babies, small children, senior citizens and other people with a weakened immune system in particular could get serious illnesses in worse cases.
The company from southern Hesse was already affected by a similar recall in autumn 2021 - it was ginger powder.
