With NBA 2K23 just around the corner, players are wondering what changes developers have in store for this year.
2K and the developers of Visual Concepts have announced some information about the new "NBA 2K23".
A while ago they revealed Michael Jordan as one of the cover athletes.
They also announced the return of a popular game mode in NBA 2K23.
In the meantime, the developers have also given an insight into the gameplay with the latest trailer.
They also presented details of the innovations at a press event.
“NBA 2K23”: The gameplay has these innovations to offer
In the first look trailer, there are generally no differences to the predecessor.
However, 2K has revealed what innovations are in "NBA 2K23".
We have listed the most important ones here:
Jump Shots: One change affects the different jump shots.
These will now also have properties and their own roll values.
According to Gameplay Director Mike Wang, the request came from NBA star Luka Dončić himself, who graced the cover of last year's NBA 2K22.
NBA fans know that the 23-year-old from the Dallas Mavericks has a rather slow throw, but still sinks his shots with a high percentage, even when defenders press him.
Such characteristics should be carried over into "NBA 2K23".
No more early green releases: Mike Wang also announced changes to throwing feedback.
In the last "NBA 2K" parts, players already knew when they let go of the green release that their throw went in.
However, that took a lot of tension out of the game.
For this reason, the "Green Releases" in "NBA 2K23" have also been revised.
Adrenaline Rush: Brand new is the concept of Adrenaline Rush, where explosive moves can be performed.
However, this is only available to players to a limited extent.
Pro Stick: The right stick will offer new opportunities for throwing, dribbling and dunking.
The latter gives players more control so they don't accidentally perform skill dunks that require precise timing.
New Dunk Animations: Also new to dunks is that they are no longer performed solely as pre-programmed animations.
For example, players can hold on to the ring, pull themselves up and decide for themselves when to let go - if you hold on for too long, you risk a whistle from the referee.
Team Takeovers: In NBA 2K23, players will be rewarded more for playing together as a team.
Only those who function well as a team fill the team takeover meter and can then benefit from additional boosts.

NBA 2K23 will be released in September
In addition, the defense system will offer some innovations.
The AI has also improved in this regard.
In general, opponents controlled by the computer should use better strategies and react more realistically to certain situations.
New badges will also be available to choose from.
It remains to be seen how these changes will make themselves felt.
NBA 2K23 is out September 9th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
