While heat waves have been beating down on France for several weeks, fire outbreaks have also multiplied in France since the start of the summer, the flames going from the South-West to the Vercors massif via Brittany.
According to figures from the European Copernicus forest fire information system, since the beginning of June, nearly 47,286 hectares of forest have been ravaged, compared to 30,652 last year.
