Berlin's Grunewald forest, in the western part of the city, is on fire.
The fire, the media reported, was caused by numerous explosions in an ammunition and explosives depot of the capital's police.
Since this morning, the succession of detonations has made the extinguishing operations difficult.
The fire currently affects an area of approximately 1.5 hectares, which has been surrounded by firefighters.
However, the firefighters cannot approach the depot yet.
Several railway lines in the city were interrupted, as well as sections of the motorway.
