(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, AUGUST 04 - The president of the EU Council, Charles Michel, is closely following the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, had a telephone conversation with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and will also speak with the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.
This is what EU sources explain, underlining that Michel's staff and the EU special envoy to the Caucasus, Toivo Klaar have had close contacts with both parties in recent days, to lead "to an immediate de-escalation and progress on the issues on the table" negotiated "through dialogue".
