Taiwan, China launched 11 Dongfeng ballistic missiles

(ANSA) - BEIJING, 04 AUG - China today launched 11 Dongfeng (DF) ballistic missiles in the waters around Taiwan, as part of the military exercises started today in response to the visit to the island by the speaker of the American Chamber Nancy Pelosi.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Taiwan, quoted by the official Central News Agency, specifying that the launches took place at different times.

   The Taipei army "immediately grasped the dynamics of the launch, activated the related defense systems and strengthened combat readiness".
