Ligue 1 Uber Eats: all about the 2022-2023 season

The organization of a day of L1

The three new clubs, Ajaccio, Toulouse and Auxerre, join the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season which runs from August 5, 2022 to June 3, 2023. This Friday at 9 p.m., Lyon welcomes Ajaccio for the match of opening of Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

Then, nine matches will follow between Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, only two meetings will take place.

The first at 5 p.m. (Strasbourg – Monaco) and the second at 9 p.m. (Clermont – PSG).

As for Sunday, Toulouse meets Nice at 1 p.m.

Then, at 3 p.m., Lille face Auxerre and Lens challenges Brest.

There is also Montpellier against Troyes and Angers against Nantes.

These four matches will be broadcast at the same time.

Subscribers to the Ligue 1 Pass will be able to choose between the multiplex, presented by Karim Bennani, or the entirety of one of the matches.

Finally,

Sunday evening from 8:45 p.m., Marseille receives Reims to close this first day of the championship.

The following days will proceed in the same way.

The first game will be on Friday, followed by two matches on Saturday and seven on Sunday.

A few exceptions, however, especially during the 5th day which will take place on August 31.

Five games will take place at 7 p.m. and the other five at 9 p.m.

New for this season

This year, Ligue 1 will experience several new features.

The Professional Football League has reduced the number of teams in Ligue 1. From the 2023-2024 season, only eighteen selections will be admitted to the championship.

In fact, to arrive at this figure, the 2022-2023 edition will have to separate from four teams at the end of the competition.

Exceptionally, there will be no play-offs this season.

On the other hand, two “Boxing Days” will be introduced on December 28 and January 1, 2023. On the 16th and 17th days of the championship, all the formations will compete on the same day.

This peculiarity is due to the Football World Cup which takes place from November 21 to December 18.

Indeed, the players return, for the occasion, to their national teams.

Ligue 1 will therefore take a break between the 15th day (November 13) and the 16th day (December 28).

A second truce will take place between the 19th day (January 15) and the 20th day (January 29), in the middle of the winter transfer window.

Finally, the Ligue 1 calendar will take into account the requirements of each team.

Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League matches influence the dates and times of Ligue 1 fixtures.
