Mario Kart 8: New tracks for wave 3 leaked from the Booster Pass – These classics are coming

With the booster track pass, Mario Kart 8 will be given new tracks in several waves until the end of 2023.

Now the routes for DLC wave 3 have been leaked.

Tokyo – Just a few days ago, the second wave of tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe appeared on the Nintendo Switch.

With the DLC, Nintendo breathed new life into the popular arcade racer.

With a total of 48 new routes, the game has doubled its scope.

Each DLC wave brings 8 new tracks with it.

However, Nintendo makes a secret of which new routes are coming and when the next wave of the DLC will appear.

However, a dataminer has now discovered very clear indications of which routes will soon be included in the game, as reported by IPPEN.MEDIA ingame.de.

Where does the information come from?

A dataminer published a leak on Reddit.

In the game data of the new DLC from August 4th, there were apparently short music snippets that had not been used by any track before and that can be clearly assigned to various Mario Kart tracks from past games.

With the information from an older leak in combination, pretty accurate predictions can be made as to which routes will come into play with the next DLC wave.

Which routes are included?

With each new wave of the DLC, 8 new tracks come into play, divided into two cups.

It is already known what the next cups will be called, since Nintendo has published an overview graphic and the cups can already be selected in the game, but have not yet been activated.

The following are the two new cups that are expected to come at the end of the year.

Mario Kart 8: The Rock Cup brings these new routes:

London Loop (Mario Kart Tour):

The first new track of the third wave is said to be London Loop from the mobile game Mario Kart Tour.

The route passes Big Ben, double-decker buses and other London attractions.

You can also discover Tower Bridge while driving.

The track first appeared in 2019.

Peach's Castle Garden (Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii):

Peach's Castle Garden should follow in second place in the Fels Cup.

The track was playable in Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii.

The route in the castle garden leads past chain dogs, moles and moats.

There is also a roundabout, as well as various boost fields and ski jumps.

"Boo Huu Valley" or "Destroyed Path" (Mario Kart Super Circuit):

Unfortunately, the leak is not clear at this point, since two tracks on the Gameboy Advance game "Mario Kart Supercircuit" use the same music.

But you can look forward to a reinterpretation of one of these tracks with a spooky atmosphere that has never been implemented in 3D before.

"Mountain Path" (Mario Kart 7):

This track is fittingly the conclusion of the Rock Cup.

The Mountain Trail is a fan favorite, featuring a huge ramp, tunnel, lots of boulders and the glider comes into play.

The track made its debut on the 3DS in 2011.

Mario Kart 8: The Moon Cup brings these new routes:

"Berlin Byways" (Mario Kart Tour):

The Moon Cup is to start internationally in a similar way to the Rock Cup, with "Berlin Byways" another track from Mario Kart Tour.

Again, there are various sights to discover.

The route leads past the Berlin Wall, the Victory Column, the TV Tower and the Brandenburg Gate.

Overall, this track is still fairly new, and it didn't appear in Mario Kart Tour until 2022.

Waluigi Arena (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Kart Wii):

The Waluigi Arena has appeared on both the GameCube and the Nintendo Wii, so the course is probably very familiar to most fans.

Classic for the arena courses in Mario Kart, there are plenty of fiery obstacles to overcome and long jumps to master.

However, according to the leak, the original GameCube track and not the adapted version from Mario Kart Wii should find its way into the game.

"Merry Mountain" (Mario Kart Tour):

This track is also from the mobile offshoot of the series and takes you around a small village at the foot of a misty mountain.

The route is adorned with gifts and leads up into a rocky cliff area to the top of the mountain.

The track was first introduced in 2020.

"Rainbow Boulevard" (Mario Kart 7):

Very classic and as the highlight of the Moon Cup, the "Rainbow Boulevard" from Mario Kart 7 from Nintendo 3DS forms the conclusion and thus also the last stretch of the third DLC wave.

Compared to the previous versions of the course, this version of the route has become even longer.

In addition, you sometimes drive "off-road" directly over individual planets such as the moon.

It's the longest rainbow run of any Mario Kart game to date.

What other routes are there?

The leak also contains information about a few other routes.

However, these cannot be assigned so clearly to one of the upcoming cups, so their order is uncertain.

The leak mentions the following routes:

• Amsterdam Drift (Mario Kart Tour)

• Singapore Speedway (Mario Kart Tour)

• Sunset Desert (Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart Tour)

• Bangkok Rush (Mario Kart Tour)

• Vancouver Velocity (Mario Kart Tour)

• Leaf Forest (Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Tour)

When are the new routes coming?

Looking at the time span between the first two DLC waves with new tracks, one can conclude that the new tracks could be released in November, towards the end of the year.

The timeframe makes sense, as Nintendo will likely release the last three waves at similar intervals over the next year.

However, Nintendo always announces the new routes at very short notice, most recently there were only a few days between the announcement and the release.

In any case, it will be exciting to see which fan favorite tracks Nintendo will conjure out of the hat for the rest of the DLC.
