There are two blues in the main draw of the "National Bank Open", the sixth ATP Masters 1000 of the season which takes place on hard courts in Montreal, Canada (8 to 14 August).

Matteo Berrettini, n.14 in the ranking and seventh favorite of the seeding, was drawn in the first round against the Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, n.23 ATP.

On the other hand, Jannik Sinner enters the race directly in the second round, n.10 in the ranking and seventh favorite in seeding, fresh from the success in the "250" on the land of Umag, who is waiting for the winner of the challenge between two players coming from the qualifications.

Berrettini and Sinner are in the same eighth of the lower part of the scoreboard, the one manned by the Greek Tsitsipas, n.5 ATP and third seed, and by the Spaniard Alcaraz, n.4 ATP and second seeded.

Reigning champion is the Russian Daniil Medvedev, n.1 in the world, who last year in Toronto won his fourth "1000" title in his career.

Two blues are also present in the qualifiers.

Fabio Fognini, n.55 ATP and second seed of "which", was drawn in the first round against the Canadian Kelsey Stevenson, n.823 of the ranking, on the board as "alternate" (unpublished challenge), while Roberto Marcora, n.556 of the ranking, also "alternate", has to contend with the British Jack Draper, n.81 ATP and eleventh seeded (also in this case there are no precedents).

Medvedev will begin his journey at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers, the 2022 edition of one of the oldest tournaments in the world, against Nick Kyrgios or Sebastian Baez.

The number 2 seed, who will enjoy a bye like all the top eight on the draw, is Carlos Alcaraz after Nadal's forfeit due to abdominal problems after Wimbledon.

The Spaniard will debut against Vasek Pospisil or Tommy Paul.
