The septuagenarian leader remains in isolation pending a second negative test, said his doctor.
Tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time on July 21, Joe Biden had tested negative, then suffered a "rebound" of positivity on July 30.

The White House had relayed a note from Dr. Kevin O'Connor.
The American president had tested negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, it could be read.
Kevin O'Connor nevertheless specified that cases of "rebound" positivity are frequent among people treated with Paxlovid, Pfizer's anti-Covid pill.
Paxlovid is an antiviral treatment that works by reducing the ability of the virus to replicate, thus slowing the progression of the disease.
It must be taken within the first few days after symptoms appear to be effective.
