(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, 06 AUGUST - There are over 200 rockets of Islamic Jihad launched from Gaza against Israel in just under 24 hours of conflict.
Of these - according to some estimates cited by media - about 130 have crossed the border and in most have been intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.
The rest fell in open areas or at sea and about 30 in the Strip itself.
In Sderot - an Israeli town one step away from Gaza - a rocket hit a house causing material damage: the inhabitants were already in the shelter at the time of the blow.
In the coastal city of Ashkelon 20 people were treated in Barzilai hospital for injuries sustained while running to shelters or from panic attacks.
In the meantime, the army's attacks on the Strip are being carried out, targeting the military posts of the Jihad and weapons depots.
