Monkey pox: why originally expired vaccines were used

A batch of Imvanex vaccines originally expired on March 31, 2017, but its expiry date was delayed to March 31, 2024 following

Ludovic, 42, received his first dose of monkeypox vaccine last Monday in Brest.

But when he had just entered the center, the nurse told him that the batch of vaccines used that day, P00027, was initially supposed to expire on March 21… 2017. This deadline was finally extended to 31 March 2024, after agreement from the National Medicines Safety Agency.
