Once upon a time, when the baby was tiny, you more or less knew his sleep and waking and sleeping windows and knew how to schedule or deal with them.

As the child grows, sleep settles down and becomes more continuous, but the hours of sleep definitely change.

Not only age is an influencing factor, but also the child's setting, which sometimes no longer includes afternoon naps.

So when should the toddler go to bed in the evening?

Roital Algor

, infant development instructor and sleep consultant, explains:

around the age of two or three, the toddler should sleep between 12 and 13 hours a day.

If the child is already in municipal kindergarten, most likely his daily routine does not include a nap, and he is actually awake from the moment he wakes up in the morning until the moment he goes to sleep in the evening.

If so, his night's sleep should last 12-13 hours, and if he gets up in the morning around 7:00 AM he will probably go to bed at 7:00 PM the night before.

If the child is still taking an afternoon nap, the duration of the sleep and the time the child wakes up are what affect the time when his night sleep will begin.

A toddler who sleeps for two hours at noon and wakes up around 3:00 PM will not be tired at 7:00 PM, but will show signs of tiredness and want to sleep around 9:00 PM, assuming he wakes up at 7:00 AM.

Not sure when your child should go to bed?

Do you feel that you are following an agenda that suited you in the past but today is less so?

Just pay attention to the baby's nap.

If he gave her up - he will go to bed earlier and wake up earlier in the morning, and if he didn't give her up - he will probably fall asleep later in the evening.

The Jama application was established with the aim of responding to mothers of babies between the ages of birth and three, and to gather for them content, activities, tips from experts and videos that will accompany them throughout this challenging period.

All the contents in the application "grow" together with the baby and are precisely adjusted to the stages of his development, so that the mothers receive only what is relevant to them and interests them at any given moment.

The Jama app is the place for mothers in Israel to meet and get to know other mothers around them, and to create new and exciting friendships in the fascinating journey.
