Germany, former Chancellor Schroeder can remain in the SPD

(ANSA) - BERLIN, 08 AUG - Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder can remain in his historic party, the SPD.

This was decided today by a commission of the Social Democrats.

Schroeder would therefore not have violated party rules with his commitment to Russian state-owned companies.

An appeal can be filed against the decision within two weeks.
