Tourist campaign for Russia (EmbajadaRusaES)

A clip showing everything that is wonderful about Russia has become a joke on the Internet, even though he himself was laughing at the sanctions that the West has imposed on the country since Vladimir Putin began the invasion of Ukraine.

More than six months have passed since the beginning of the invasion and despite the heavy losses and the strict sanctions, the Russians still do not break and show the world how "brave" they are.

The video, originally posted on YouTube by a pro-Russian group called Signal, went viral last week after the Russian Embassy in Spain shared it on their Twitter account with the caption: "Time to move to Russia."

The clip, which is 53 seconds long in total, shows various sites in Russia and a voice that is heard calling in English with a very heavy Russian accent: "This is Russia. Very tasty cuisine, beautiful women, cheap gas, rich history, famous writers, special architecture, many mountains, electricity Cheap and water, ballet, cheap taxis and errands, traditional Arabs, Christianity, no cancellation culture, great hosts, vodka."

This is Russia!

Finally, the voice says that the Russian economy: "Can withstand tens of thousands of sanctions. It's time to move to Russia, don't hesitate, winter is coming."

It is not clear whether this is an attempt to imitate the slogan of the Game of Thrones at the end, or whether it is a real threat to the West since the Russians control most of the gas in Europe.

The clip has gone viral since its publication, and less people have not stopped laughing at it, with most thinking that it is some kind of joke by the Russians.

Or is it actually Russia?

One of the reasons for mocking the clip is the work that the representative of the "beautiful Russian women" seen in the clip is actually Ukrainian, whose father fought in the Russian army.

The family of 27-year-old Sonia Kapitonova is still in Ukraine and she told the French newspaper Liberation that she never supported the Russian invasion.

"My whole family is there - my little brother can't leave the country, my mother works at home and my father is fighting."

Kapitonova's video was uploaded to the web after the photographer sold it to an online video bank.

Ironically, the same video of Kapitonova also appears in the music video of the Ukrainian singer Angi Kraida from May 2022 called "The Enemy".

Some pointed out that one of the "famous Russian writers" shown in the video is Nikolai Gogol, who was born, raised and educated in Ukraine.
