Filthy rich and nobody knows anything about it: There are millionaires who don't live out their wealth.
A reddit user claims to belong to this group – not even the wife knows about the fortune.
Some have to turn over every cent, others swim in money like Scrooge McDuck.
Usually the two groups do not mix because rich and poor live in parallel societies.
Some have hobbies such as golf, travel and collecting cars.
The others, on the other hand, have hardly any money for personal pleasure, but have to invest everything in basic needs such as housing or food.
But there are also said to be rich people who lead a “normal lifestyle”.
According to their own statements, this includes the reddit user with the nickname Affectionate_Alps491.
The reddit portal is a so-called social news aggregator on which registered users can post content.
Affectionate_Alps491's post is a kind of "outing": He explains why he is already a multi-millionaire at the age of 27 and that he is not a typical rich man.
Life as a millionaire: A reddit user still has a 40-hour job
Ten million US dollars: This is how high the assets of the reddit user Affectionate_Alps491 are according to their own statements.
Much of his wealth is due to large inheritances from his grandparents and father.
Affectionate_Alps491 prefaces his post with the classification: "This AmA is not intended for self-expression, but simply as an opportunity to ask questions that you would not normally get answered".
AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything", a question category on reddit.

Despite his wealth, he has a 40-hour management job, has a "small 10k car," lives in a 90-square-meter apartment, and even his friends and colleagues don't know about his wealth, the millionaire said.
In particular, the statement "I'm married and my wife sometimes says she wishes she were rich" irritates readers.
When asked, Affectionate_Alps491 explains: "No, my wife doesn't know how much exists, I do all the tax and financial matters and she is completely reticent and doesn't want to know anything about it.
She knows I do a lot in the stock market, but she doesn't know how much money that is etc.

Others ask: "Why do you take a salaried job in middle (?) management and not start your own business with the millions as security?
(...) I'm just going to assume that your childhood dream wasn't to become a manager".
The answer: “In fact, as a child I always wanted to be a millionaire and I wrote that in the friendship books even back then.
Otherwise, I've actually always wanted to be a manager.
So far I have been very satisfied with my jobs and have always done something that I enjoyed and found interesting, including in the current management, although there is also a promotion coming up soon.
I've always been taught that you get the most out of doing something you enjoy and are good at."
