The early rumors and reports from late July turned out to be true and almost accurate: Britney Spears and Elton John are indeed collaborating, and recently recorded an updated version of John's big seventies hit, "Tiny Dancer."
Representatives of the two artists confirmed the details tonight (Monday).
The intriguing piece, which is expected to be unveiled this week, is called "Hold Me Closer" - after the line that opens the chorus of the original song.
The cover of the new single was also revealed last night on John's official Instagram page, and in it you can see, under the name of the song, an emoji of a missile that symbolizes the 75-year-old British singer (as a nod to Rocket Man), and an emoji of a rose that represents Spears .

Remember, this is the 40-year-old Britney's first musical project in 6 years (her last album, "Glory", was released in 2016), and also the singer's first recording since she was released last year from the guardianship of her father, Jamie, after 13 years Custody is not easy.
Another interesting fact: exactly one year ago Elton John and Dua Lipa launched the huge hit "Cold Heart", a dance piece that combines three of John's classics: "Rocket Man", "Sacrifice" and "Kiss The Bride" (and A bit of the song "Where's the Shoorah", which was not released as a single), and gives them a contemporary twist.
We wouldn't be surprised if the new "Hold Me Closer" builds on the same winning formula, establishing itself as one of the biggest hits of what's left of this summer.
More updates soon.
