(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, AUGUST 09 - Three Palestinians were killed today in a fire fight with the Israeli army in the Casbah of Nablus in the West Bank.
This was reported by the official Palestinian press agency Wafa, which cites medical sources.
The identity of those killed has not yet been disclosed.
According to Wafa, there have also been 40 injured in today's clashes, four of whom are in serious condition.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have left Nablus.
"In a joint operation of Shin Bet, police and army units in the Casbah of Nablus, terrorist Ibrahim a-Nabulsi was killed," a military spokesman said.
"He was responsible for a series of armed attacks against the army in that area. During the attempted capture - he added - there was a fire fight in which another terrorist was also killed".
Later the Palestinian ministry of health - quoted by the Maan agency - reported that the three Palestinians have been identified.
These are, specified by Ibrahima-Nabulsi, Hussein Jamal Taha and Islam Sabbouh.
The latter, according to local media, was part of the Islamic Jihad alamilitary in Jenin, in the northern West Bank.
