Nonsense: the collaboration between Beyoncé and Madonna is simply unnecessary Israel today

2022-08-09T07:50:01.358Z

A connection between the two superpowers in the world of pop in the remix of the hit "Break My Soul" by Kevin B, was supposed to produce something interesting • In the end, the result is loaded with a lot of ills of the music world and devoid of any real artistic value

Funny how popular culture works.

Up until about a decade and a half ago, the very idea of a collaboration between Madonna and Beyoncé - two cultural leaders who have preceded them - would have stimulated the musical desire glands of the average pop fan.

Madonna was then still considered the Queen Mother, a musical institution that no longer needed to prove itself.

Beyoncé, on the other hand, was considered another rising force in music.

She was already a strong enough super-brand at this point, but there is no doubt that being associated with someone who is considered one of the pioneers of the genre in which she operates would have been very beneficial for her.

But the year is 2022, and considering the career and personal history of these two - it is precisely the first of the two who benefits this time.

The world of pop is cruel, certainly when it comes to Madonna - an artist who has been trying to hold on to her youth in a rather embarrassing way in recent years, and with every effort to connect to the world of the young people of the Tiktok generation, she only gives herself the image of an awkward aunt, with every bizarre video she uploads to the web.

"The Queen of Pop and Queen B collaborate", reads the press release accompanying the song, adding "a new remix version of Beyonce's big hit 'Break My Soul'".

It is difficult to think of remix versions that have value for those who do not define themselves as clubbers, and this is also the case with the current remix, which is intended almost exclusively for dance floors.

But what is interesting, at least in terms of the presentation of this product, is its presentation as a version of "Beyoncé's greatest hit", when in fact it is a remix of the song released on her very new album "Renaissance".

A big hit?

Maybe, but certainly not like the song it's included here, Madonna's "Vogue."

You know, a lovable song that had minor success in the 90s, you may have heard of it.

Either way, it is a connection between two songs of different levels of iconicity, devoid of any real artistic value, loaded with a host of ills that the world of music is currently plagued with.

On paper a combination of these two forces should have produced something interesting.

In practice it is nonsense.
