Rewe sets up special ATMs - only one of 40 in Germany

At Rewe there is an innovation for numerous customers.
The store offers consumers a rare ATM.
Dortmund - At Rewe, customers can find numerous products and do their weekly shopping - despite food shortages caused by the Ukraine war.
A branch in Offenbach is now offering a new service, namely a new ATM in the supermarket.
But this is not intended for withdrawing money, as RUHR24 reports.

The ATM is specifically a crypto machine operated by the Austrian company Kurant.
So far there are only 40 such machines in Germany.
In the Rewe market it is even the first so far, because all other Bitcoin machines are at Saturn, Media Markt and in a Bavarian Volksbank branch, as
reported by
t3n.de.
At the machine at Rewe, customers can buy the largest cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Ether to date.
The owner of the Rewe market Güler writes on Instagram about the innovation: “With us you can not only do your weekly shopping and get rid of small change.
From now on you can even invest on site with us”.
But the machine is apparently unsuitable for inexperienced newcomers (more service news at RUHR24).
Rewe sets up special ATMs - use is not for beginners
If you want to use the crypto machine, you have to at least register first, as with many other ATMs.
Consumers can do this on the provider's website.
Personal contact details are required for this and identification via video is also necessary.
Overall, the registration should take "about one working day", as the company announces.
In addition, Rewe customers need a “wallet”, i.e. a digital wallet, in order to buy crypto currencies.
The deposit should then be transferred.
Customers can then scan the QR code of the digital wallet at the crypto machine or set one up on site.

But there are always other innovations at Rewe that customers should be prepared for.
It remains to be seen whether the new machines will also be available in other Rewe branches in the future or whether the branch in Offenbach am Main will remain the only one offering cryptocurrencies.
