(ANSA) - BEIJING, 09 AUG - Ten ships and 45 military aircraft of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have been detected around the island of Taiwan until 5pm today (11 in Italy).
A note from the Taipei Defense Ministry reports that 16 fighter jets (eight SU-30s, eight J-16s) "flew over the eastern part of the Taiwan Strait midline", not recognized by Beijing, but traditionally respected.
