There are only a few days left until the finale of Better Call Saul finally airs.

The sixth and final season of the TV series is currently running, and the final episode will be shown in the USA on August 15th.

And a year ago it was by no means certain that fans would still see the end of this Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takavic story.

At the end of July 2021, lead actor Bob Odenkirk collapsed while filming the series.

He suffered a heart attack.

In an interview with "Radio Times", the 59-year-old spoke about this moment.

The team filmed all day, Odenkirk said.

Between two missions, he climbed onto his training bike, which he used frequently.

He watched a Chicago Cubs baseball game and then collapsed.

His colleague Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler) and his colleague Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin) grabbed his head and his hand, Odenkirk said.

"They yelled at me to stay on earth."

He stopped breathing, Odenkirk said.

"If no one was there, if they hadn't done that CPR, I would have been dead in a few minutes." get a defibrillator.

Eventually, he was operated on in the hospital.

Reunion with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman

»Better Call Saul« tells the story of lawyer Jimmy McGill, who becomes increasingly criminal.

The series is the prequel to »Breaking Bad«: The show aired from 2008 to 2013 - and is generally considered one of the most popular TV series of recent history.

Fans longed all the more for a reunion with the two main actors from "Breaking Bad" - and were recently heard.

Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) appeared in the eleventh episode of the sixth season of Better Caul Saul.

And according to Odenkirk, it was "the greatest joy of all time" to be back in front of the camera with his former colleagues.

Odenkirk said he still hasn't really accepted the fact that his time as Saul Goodman is now coming to an end.

'It was twelve years of my life.

But when I've finished watching this season with everyone else, then it will hit me: It's over."
