G7, control of Moscow over power plant and 'danger for the region'

(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 10 - Russia's control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine "puts the region in danger".

The G7 affirms it.

   "We demand that Russia immediately give its rightful owner, Ukraine, total control of the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia", reads a G7 statement published by Germany, which holds the current presidency.

   The Ukrainian staff operating in the nuclear power plant "must be in a position to carry out their task without threats or pressures", reads the statement from the G7 foreign ministers.
