With the last rerun of Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia the return of the summer season of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma to the Baths of Caracalla came to an end.
After two years of forced absence, due to the pandemic, from the traditional site of the Baths of Caracalla, the review achieved extraordinary results.
The 32 evenings of opera, ballet and extras shows recorded an attendance of 110,713 spectators, a result higher (+ 3.8%) than the 106,692 recorded in 2019, the last year before the pandemic.
In particular, the first evening of Carmen on 15 July recorded the absolute record of spectators and collection of an opera in Caracalla (3,813 tickets sold for a collection of approximately 187 thousand euros).
The filling rate of the entire exhibition stood at 76.9% compared to 71.8% in the last edition of 2019. These data, together with that of total receipts of over 6.7 million euros,
"The return of the season of the Opera Theater in Caracalla is confirmed as an event particularly loved by Romans and tourists, as evidenced by the record of attendance and tickets sold with over 110 thousand spectators who attended the 32 evenings of opera, dance and concerts ", declares the Mayor and President of the Roberto Gualtieri Foundation.
