"Operation Dawn" ended with no deaths in Israel or injuries, but even during it people who ran to the MMD fell and were injured. Data obtained by "Israel Hayom" show that such injuries are more common in the center of the country than in the surrounding area.
In the years 2011-2021, 338 people were injured in circumstances related to the red color alarm.
The vast majority of them fell on the way to the protected area during an alarm and were taken to hospital.
This is according to data collected at the National Center for Research on Trauma and Emergency Medicine at the Gartner Institute in Sheba Hospital. This information does not include Operation Dawn. During the round of combat, approximately 48 people who ran to the hospital and were injured were admitted to the hospitals in the south.
About a third (33.12%) of the hospitalized were injured in settlements far from Gaza, where the evacuation time to a protected area is 90 seconds.
About 17% live in settlements where the evacuation time is 60 seconds.
About 21% are in areas where you have 45 seconds to evacuate.
About 18% live in areas where there is 30 seconds to evacuate, and only about 11% live in areas where the warning time is 15 seconds.
The adults are at risk
The phenomenon is also common among those aged 60 and over, but here too there is a difference between the surrounding settlements and the center.
While in the 15-second warning zone the proportion of those aged 60 and over is about 21% of those hospitalized, in the 90-second zone they make up about 52%.
In the 45 seconds area is the highest proportion of people aged 60 and over: almost 67%.
In the information collected, no differences were found according to gender and religion.
"In the localities close to the Gaza Strip, running to the protected area is more practiced," explains Dr. Moran Bodes, director of the Sheba Center.
