(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, AUGUST 10 - About 10 thousand ISIS militiamen are operating between Syria and Iraq, despite the international jihadist organization being declared militarily defeated more than three years ago in Syria and more than five years ago in Iraq.
This was said in the last few hours by the UN counter-terrorism officer, Vladimir Voronkov, presenting the latest report on the subject of Secretary General Antonio Guterres to the Security Council.
Cited this morning by the Syrian and pan-Arab media, the text of the report states that ISIS can still count on resources of between 25 and 50 million dollars.
Despite the killings of the leaders of the international organization, the presence of ISIS - reads the report - is recorded on a global scale: from Pakistan to Afghanistan, from the Middle East to sub-Saharan Africa, up to Europe and Western countries.
