When you perform well at work, you want to take credit for it.

But sometimes others adorn themselves with their own achievements.

You sit for hours on a presentation or a submission and then present it to your manager - that is well received at first and you get praise for your elaboration.

You overhear your work being presented to high-ranking employees in the company – your name will not be mentioned.

A punch in the pit of the stomach.

Something similar happened to Cristina Sevcenco.

She made videos on TikTok and talked about it with

Buzzfeed US

.

In a similar TikTok, an applicant reacted to a job rejection with a meme and was then invited to an interview.

Ten things that will immediately disqualify you in a job interview

Job: Long research and no credit

Cristina Sevcenco got her first job in a large company in 2019.

She carried out market research analyzes for two weeks and came up with exciting results, which she put together in a presentation and presented to her boss.

By chance, she later overheard how her work was presented to "powerful people" - everything was the same, only her name was no longer mentioned.

"It broke my heart," she told

Buzzfeed US

.

Afterwards she sought a conversation with her boss to clarify the situation: "It wasn't about promotions or bonuses for me, but about recognition and a pat on the back."

Sevcenco had the feeling that the boss uses her work to advance her own career and she said so immediately.

Her boss is said to have ignored her statement and changed the subject without batting an eyelid.

Job: frustrating action with watermarks in presentation is not well received

Because she no longer wanted her presentation to be used without her name being mentioned, she hid her own signature in the presentation.

This shows up as a watermark as soon as the presentation is downloaded.

She presented her reaction as a TikTok video.

This has been clicked 4.5 million times so far, it brought her around 613,000 likes and a number of comments.

However, the idea of hiding the signature in the presentation only went down well on the Internet.

Her superiors met with a lack of understanding.

She tells Buzzfeed US

that she was asked to create an unsigned edited version and will never do anything like it again.

After that, her career progressed more slowly, she was hardly given any more orders and she was finally dismissed.

According to information she provided to

Buzzfeed

, she had 21 days to find a new job.

Job: “You have to fight your way to the top.

It doesn't matter who gets hurt."

Sevcenco does not find the action very unusual for her working environment, it is normal and her boss would probably have been brought to it by her boss.

"I think my boss claiming my work as her own is normal in this field.

It's like a lion cage.

You have to fight your way to the top.

It doesn't matter who gets hurt," explains Cristina Sevcenco on

Buzzfeed US.

After her time at the company, Sevcenco worked briefly for another company, but now she is a freelancer and implements her own projects.

But she still has a vision for a better working world in cooperation:

It doesn't always have to be a competition.

We can work together to grow.

We don't have to steal from each other.

We can learn from each other and be better - to create a better work environment where everyone is supported and valued.

But sometimes I think it's just a beautiful dream.

Job: "My manager is even sneakier..."

The comments below the video go in similar directions.

One user would like a tutorial on how to watermark their own name in the presentation, others describe similar experiences: "My manager is even more sneaky, he calls me before meetings and asks my opinion, only to get it in the meeting as his own." A manager also comments under the video: "As a manager, I always give my team credit!

I love showing them off.”

Job: Sevcenco shares more TikToks that underscore her self-confidence

Cristina Sevcenco is not lacking in self-confidence, on her TikTok channel she shares more videos that simulate possible questions in job interviews.

For example, she addresses a quick-witted response when you are told in an interview that you are overqualified for the job and therefore do not get the job.

She puts on a poker face and replies, "Oh, that's okay, I just wanted to practice my interview presentation here."

Another TikTok shows the answer to the question of where you see yourself in five years.

Sevcenco's response: "On your post, but with better questions." If you want to see more of her videos, you can find her channel at @cristinasevcenco.
