Lehrte: Dispute escalated after the accident – ​​the police settled with a large contingent

According to the police, eight officials were injured in a dispute after a traffic accident in Lehrte.

The police officers used pepper spray to resolve the conflict between the parties involved in the accident.

Three men were taken into custody.

According to previous knowledge, the emergency services drove around 8 p.m. to record an accident between two cars in downtown Lehrte.

The police said there was already a dispute between those involved in the accident.

A 44-year-old Mercedes driver quarreled with a 63-year-old taxi driver with a VW Touran.

Called more and more friends

According to the police, the 44-year-old asked to call a towing company.

A short time later, however, two friends of hers appeared.

One of the two suddenly put a companion of the taxi driver in a headlock.

The situation then became "confusing" because more and more acquaintances of the two accident drivers were added, the statement said.

Only a high number of police officers and the use of pepper spray were able to bring the situation under control.

Three men were taken into police custody.

During the clash, eight police officers suffered minor injuries, it said.

The accident caused the taxi driver and a 58-year-old passenger in the Mercedes to be slightly injured.

The police have initiated investigations into resistance, dangerous bodily harm and attempted prisoner release.
