Fire in Herceg Novi (2 August 2022)

The police in Montenegro arrested a youth from Herceg Novi who is said to have started ten forest fires.
The 19-year-old caused the fire between July 24 and August 8 in the hinterland of the coastal town, the Interior Ministry said.
He therefore kindled the flames in forests and bushes along municipal roads.
The fires were extinguished by the fire brigades with the support of helicopters.
People were not harmed.
The prosecutor's office in Kotor took over the youngster's case.
He is suspected of arson.
Vegetation fires are common in Montenegro and the neighboring Adriatic countries of Croatia and Albania during the hot and dry summer months.
