Today the Sydney Opera House will turn pink in honor of Olivia Newton-John, the Grease star who died on Monday in the United States.

CNN writes it.

Other Australian sites, including Perth's Optus Stadium and Melbourne's Flinders Street Railway Station, lit up in pink last night in memory of the UK-born artist who has become one of Australia's most beloved celebrities.

Victorian state premier Dan Andrews said the decision was made "to remember Olivia Newton John and her tremendous contribution to cancer awareness, research and treatment."

The image of Newton-John was also broadcast on the side of Fed Square, a place of art and culture in central Melbourne.

Newton-John survived two breast cancer relapses, one in the early 1990s, the other in 2017. In September 2018, she revealed that she was once again battling the disease.
