Yellow alert for the
southern regions
forced to face a new
weather alert
with rains and thunderstorms - locally also very intense and accompanied by
hailstorms, lightning and strong gusts of wind
- starting from Friday.
For Sardinia, summer goes on standby as of today: this afternoon, in fact, a large disturbance has discharged lightning and hailstones on the ground.
The thunderstorms appeared in the center of the island, in particular in the Nuorese area, shortly after lunchtime with local water bombs which, according to initial information, did not cause damage but only inconvenience, with flooded roads on the outskirts and in rural areas of the towns and some flooding.
Strong gusts of wind accompanied by a pouring rain brought the storm from the Barbagia di Seulo and Mandrolisai to Cagliari.
Several tourists have had to hurry off the beaches of the east coast to shelter from the passing storm.

Water bomb also in Bitti, the town devastated by the flood of November 2020 and fresh from the storm of a few days ago.
In the inhabited center the fire brigade intervened to flood the ground floor of a house and the workers of the Province and the Municipality are in action, respectively on the provincial road 3 which connects Bitti to Onanì and on the southern ring road of the inhabited center, where there was flooding and debris on the roadway.
At this moment a real water bomb with strong winds is hitting Cagliari.
According to the meteorologists of the Decimomannu Air Force, the weather will be unstable until Saturday and will tend to improve gradually from Sunday onwards.

The civil protection of the Campania Region has, in fact, extended the 'yellow' criticality notice for rains and thunderstorms, valid until 9pm today, also for tomorrow.
