This Aperol Cupcakes recipe is perfect if you're looking for a sweet snack to spritz with.

Preheat the oven because it's aperol o'clock!

Society is divided into people who love it and those who don't like it at all.

We are talking about the Italian aperitif Aperol Spritz.

Refreshing, slightly bitter and yet fruity - a summer drink that should not be missing from any bar menu.

Our recipe for sweet Aperol cupcakes proves that you can do more with the trend drink than "just" drink it.

So what are you waiting for?

That's how it's done:

You need these ingredients:

  • Cream:

  • 300 grams of ricotta

  • 30 grams of powdered sugar

  • 50ml aperole

  • 2 tbsp orange zest

  • Dough:

  • 150 g butter, soft

  • 150 grams of sugar

  • 230 grams of flour

  • 0.5 pack baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 3 eggs

  • 250ml aperole

  • Besides that:

  • muffin tin

  • Muffin tins

The preparation is so easy:

  • For the cream:

    Mix the ricotta, icing sugar, 50 ml Aperol and zest from the orange well with a hand mixer.

    Fill into a piping bag with a star tip and refrigerate.

  • For the dough:

    Mix the butter and sugar together well with a hand mixer.

    Add the flour through a sieve and mix in with the hand mixer.

    Add the baking powder, salt and the eggs to the mixture and mix in.

    Pour in 250 ml Aperol and stir in until the batter is even and creamy.

  • Line a muffin tin with paper cups and spread the batter evenly on top.

  • Bake for about 35 minutes until the muffins have risen and are light brown (tip: test with a skewer).

  • Remove the muffins from the mold and let cool completely.

  • Pipe the cream onto the muffins and garnish with orange slices, if you like.

  • Relish!
