Hollywood may not yet be ready to welcome Johnny Depp back into its fold, even though he won the high-profile trial against his ex-partner, Amber Heard.
But this does not mean that the actor is sitting at home doing nothing, on the contrary: after shining in a commercial for the Chinese online game Sea of Dawn, Depp received another job that was a little more tailored for him: a role in the French production "Jean du Barry" - a period biographical drama about a mistress of King Louis XV, also known as Madame du Barry.
The announcement of Depp's participation in the project, his first in the last three years, was already published in January of this year, but the filming of the film only started on July 26 and is expected to last 11 weeks.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the first official photo from the project was released, in which Depp can be seen as the famous king, wearing a white bonnet and his eyes covered with a handkerchief.

Du Barry is a scandalous historian who made a career out of being an "official royal mistress" - but that tumultuous career ended on the guillotine.
The French filmmaker Maiwenn will portray the character of du Barry and will even direct the film, which will be French-speaking.
Depp, as mentioned, will step into the shoes of King Louis, who ruled France during the 18th century until he died in 1774, after succumbing to smallpox.
Louis XV was known as an extravagant, hedonistic and eccentric ruler.
The debauchery, the sexual intrusions in his yard and his many love affairs were known far and wide.
