Anne Heche, the American actress who was the victim of a terrible car accident last Friday, is brain dead.
This is the announcement of the family reported by the international media.
"Anne has suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive," a family representative told Deadline.
In these hours, the possibility of donating her organs is being considered: "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept alive to determine if some are vital", the family always says.
Until it is determined whether it is possible to donate the organs that were not damaged in the accident and the fire that followed, Heche will still continue to breathe thanks to a ventilator.
The accident dates back to August 5, Heche, 53, crashed in her Mini Cooper into a house in Lo Angeles.
Immediately afterwards the car caught fire.
Her condition had immediately appeared very serious.
Already on August 9, the actress's spokesperson had announced a further deterioration, explaining that the actress was in a state of coma.
Following the accident she had also been investigated for drunk driving, toxicological tests would have revealed the presence of her in her blood of cocaine.
