(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, AUG 12 - Salman Rushdie risks losing an eye after being stabbed at a literary event in New York State.

His agent said this by giving an update on the health condition of the writer.

"Salman will likely lose an eye, the nerves on his arm have been severed and his liver has been injured and damaged," Andrew Wylie said, according to the New York Times.
