(ANSA - ROME, 12 AUGUST - When the 883 sang the glory of innocence and the fear that it would be swallowed up by the brutal world of commodification, in 1992 they announced the presumed end of an era. "They killed Spider-Man, whoever was not sisa / Maybe the bad guys, maybe the publicity ", so said the refrain and at that time the risk that the myth of the youngest Marvel hero was on the way to sunset was concrete.

   Created in August 1962 by Stan Lee with the genius collaboration of designer Steve Ditko, high school student Peter BenjaminParker (aka Spider-Man) sees the light in number 15 of the "Amazing Fantasy" series and is entitled to a brief, apparently second-hand story.

The success, on the other hand, is overwhelming and the character wins a head of his own since the year after.

He will resist for 700 issues with ups and downs, a progressive growth and transformation (especially after the controversial abandonment of Ditko), but since 2012 the attempts to revive his popularity on paper have been constant as well as sporadic.

    The real turning point, on the other hand, is due to cinema after a long season of television serials and cartoons for children.

In 2002, in fact, Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" was released, subcontracted by Sony-Columbia two years earlier to carry out a project that had so far passed through too many hands.

Since the 1980s, Stan Lee had negotiated the rights to his creation with various production companies and many directors had caressed the project, from Tobe Hooper to David Fincher (who saw a ready-made script pushed out), up to James Cameron.

   For the interpreter the names of Tom Cruise or CharlieSheen and even the very young Leonardo DiCaprio were mentioned;

Production had moved from Golan & Globus' Carolco to MGM until Sony imposed its brand.

Raimi first conceived the project as an epic trilogy of the common hero with the teenage face of Tobey McGuire.

    The big-screen version also found immediate acclaim, so much so that after Raimi's change of hands the success remained unchanged until the recent "No Way Home" by Jon Watts and Marvel's production role became increasingly significant.
