There are about 140 pigs and wild boars in the Sfattoria in Rome that risk being killed despite being '' healthy '', that is, not infected by swine fever.
These are animals registered in the national register as Pet and microchippati which, however, have the misfortune of being in the red zone.
The extraordinary commissioner for swine fever, Angelo Ferrari, has no doubts: "The request not to proceed with the slaughter of pigs is not acceptable, also taking into account the lack and inadequacy of biosecurity measures as communicated by ASL Roma 1".
The approximately 200 volunteers of the association are shocked by the decision but they explain that they have had many demonstrations of solidarity.

The extraordinary appeal presented to the Lazio TAR against the order of the ASL Roma 1 to proceed with the killing was in fact rejected.

The appeal of the Sfattoria is received by the main animal welfare associations according to which: "The single judge did not take into consideration the reasons advanced by the owners and the animal welfare associations intervened ad adiuvandum (Enpa, Leal, Leidaa, NLDC and Oipa), but has rejected the application not recognizing, at the state of the proceedings, a 'case of exceptional gravity and urgency, such as not to allow even the prior notification of the appeal and the request for provisional precautionary measures by presidential decree'. prerequisites for urgency ".
Conversely, it is stated: "The urgency is there and there are the reasons for canceling the measure that provides for the culling. Only that these reasons must be examined: this is what we will ask for in the new appeal. In the meantime,
