An Edeka customer wondered about a discount entry on his receipt.

Do more people get it without even knowing it?

Stuttgart - It is always worth checking the receipt carefully, even if not all supermarket customers do it.

This is also reflected in the fact that people are only gradually becoming acquainted with Aldi's "fruit knot bag", which costs one cent.

An Edeka customer from Baden-Württemberg was also surprised by his receipt.

He discovered a discount he couldn't use.

Edeka customers unknowingly get a discount on their purchase

“What is that inflation stop at Edeka on the receipt?” he asked in the Twitter round.

And posted a photo of his receipt.

Actually, the purchase would have cost him 19.03 euros.

But 17 cents were deducted, so that in the end only 18.86 euros for meat loaf, salami, spaetzle, tomatoes and the like.

It doesn't take long for the Edeka customer to be informed: "With the DeutschlandCard you pay the old price for many private label products, which was 'frozen'," writes one.

"They're doing advertising right now" another.

But that was not known to the Twitter user.

"Went past me." So it's quite possible that other Edeka customers will also take the discount without knowing about it.

The Edeka campaign started weeks ago - we reported about it, and also about the catch.

Edeka: The amount of the discount causes some disappointment

Just pay less?

Basically beautiful.

But the amount of the discount then disappoints many, as can also be seen under the article.

"Doesn't matter that much" and "Not even a drop in the bucket," it says there.

Or with irony: "That's really lavish when I look at the price increases that have been seen here in village consumption in recent months.

17 cents are not quite enough.”

Other supermarkets are also currently trying to lure customers with discount campaigns and the increased price sensitivity these days.

For example, Rewe offers app users a 10% discount on “Beste Wahl” products if at least two are purchased.

In the end, is it really cheaper than in a discount store?

This is probably different for each individual, and it only helps to compare.

See the video above for some money-saving tips.

A Rewe branch in Berlin is currently causing laughter with its label on the freezer shelves.
