Ukrainian forces have
repelled a Russian offensive towards Zaporizhzhia and Novopavlivka
: this was announced by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in its latest update published on Facebook.

"In the directions of Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy used cannons, artillery and tanks to bomb Ukrainian positions" in several areas - including those of Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka and Prechystivka - and launched an air attack on the Novosilka area ", the report reads.
The Russian forces - the head of the military-regional administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, announced on Telegram - yesterday killed five civilians and injured another 35 during bombings in the Donetsk region (east), Ukrinform reports.
"On August 12, the Russians killed five civilians in the Donetsk region: two in Kramatorsk, one in Bakhmut, one in Kurakhove and one in Kodema. Another 35 people were injured," Kyrylenko wrote.
Overall, 728 civilians have been killed and 1,880 injured since the invasion of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
