Summer: the most expensive hotels in Florence and Milan

(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 13 - In Florence hotels and pensions have risen by 38.5% compared to last summer, in Milan by 30.9%.

This is what emerges from the study of the National Consumers Union which has drawn up the complete ranking of the cities with the greatest increases in terms of accommodation and catering services, processing the latest Istat data for the month of July.

    Accommodation services, ie hotels, motels, pensions, bed and breakfasts, farmhouses, holiday villages, campsites and youth hostels in July cost on a national average 12.7% more than last year.

In particular, they take the vologli Hotels and motels (+ 16.6%) and Pensions (+ 9.4%).

An indifferent balzonon but which becomes stellar in many cities, with considerable differences in the territory equal to almost 40 percentage points between the worst and the best city, even indeflation, an indication of a recovery in very differentiated tourist demand.

    Leading the ranking of the city with the greatest increases in the hotel sector is Florence, with a disproportionate + 38.5% on July 2021. In second place Milan, with an annual increase of 30.9%.

Bronze medal in La Spezia with + 27%.

Just down from the podium Viterbo, + 23%, then Bari, the first of the cities in the South with + 21.7%.

In sixth position Venice with + 21.2%, then Pisa (+ 19.7%), Lecco and Trieste (both at + 19.1%).

Modena closes the top ten (+ 18.7%).

On the other side of the ranking, 3 virtuous cities in deflation: Vercelli (-1.4%), Reggio Emilia (-1.2%), Massa-Carrara (-0.5%).

    For catering services, i.e. restaurants, pizzerias, bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, delicatessen products and pastry shops, compared to an annual inflation of 4.8% for Italy, restaurants in Verona increase compared to July 2021 of 8.8%.

In second place Forlì-Cesena, with + 8.1% and in third place Brescia, + 7.9%.

Followed by Palermo (+ 7.8%), first city in the South, then Gorizia (+ 7.6%), Sassari (+ 7.4%), in seventh position Novara, Trento and Pistoia (+ 6.8% for all 3).

Closes the top ten in Bologna and Olbia-Tempio (+ 6.7% both).

The most economical city is Lodi (1.4%), in second place Campobasso (+ 1.6%).

In third place Teramo (+ 1.9%).
