The funeral of designer Sempé, who died Thursday at age 89, will take place on Friday August 19 in Paris, his relatives told AFP on Saturday.
A mass will take place at 2 p.m. in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church, followed by burial in the Montparnasse cemetery.
Great French master of humor and poetry, a mixture of derision and modesty, Sempé has traced since the 1950s a work full of good nature: the famous children's albums of "Little Nicolas" and press cartoons, in Paris Match or L'Express or the prestigious American magazine New Yorker.
