A final tribute will be paid in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church to the father of "Little Nicolas", who died last Thursday at the age of 89.

The funeral of designer Sempé, who died Thursday at age 89, will take place on Friday August 19 in Paris, his relatives told AFP on Saturday.

A mass will take place at 2 p.m. in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church, followed by burial in the Montparnasse cemetery.

Great French master of humor and poetry, a mixture of derision and modesty, Sempé has traced since the 1950s a work full of good nature: the famous children's albums of "Little Nicolas" and press cartoons, in Paris Match or L'Express or the prestigious American magazine New Yorker.
