The scenario:
My murderous self, simply incorrigible: The investigators from Dresden are hunting a serial killer who is planning complicated crimes out of sheer lust for killing.
Chief Inspector Karin Gorniak (Karin Hanczewski) is stabbed in the stomach while pursuing the masked murderer, the new colleague Leonie Winkler (Cornelia Gröschel) looks on helplessly.
Later, the psycho killer sets his sights on her personally - a duel face to face.
The highlight:
Faceless monster, cold-blooded Normalo: The view of the murderer changes fundamentally from one moment to the next in this genre hybrid of serial killer puzzles and psycho navel gazing.
After the hunt for the mythically inflated killer, there follows a direct confrontation with a crazy bourgeois who keeps all the utensils for his bloody hobby in his basement.
The picture:
The psycho killer has assembled his corpses in a secluded house in neat domestic arrangements.
Husband and wife are sitting on the couch in front of the television, one of the inspectors exclaims: "There's still room!" The question remains: for whom?
The dialogue:
Inspector Gröschel: "If you fall off your horse, you have to get back on quickly."
Inspector Gorniak: "Hey!
Six inches of stainless steel in my gut, internal bleeding, six weeks in an induced coma, three weeks in rehab - I didn't fall off my horse, right?"
The song:
"What A Difference A Day Makes" by Dinah Washington.
This indestructible, cheerful hymn to the small happiness in busy life runs while the serial killer drives back to his bourgeois luck house on the outskirts of town with a bleeding corpse in the trunk.
The review:
7 out of 10 points.
Cleanly built serial killer thriller, which should have played a bit more with the hubris of the perpetrator.
It's enough for a few very unsettling moments before bed.
