(ANSA) - MILAN, AUGUST 14 - Serious traffic problems with several kilometers on this eve of August in Lecco due to the forced closure of the 36Milano-Lecco-Valtellina highway, at km 56,000 in the north direction of Abbadia Lariana.
The measure was made necessary by the fall of a discharge of rocks last night along the path on the border between the municipalities of Lecco and Abbadia Lariana.
Some cars, as they passed, were damaged after being hit by the material that poured onto the roadway.
Nobody was hurt.
The stretch was only reopened to traffic around 1pm.
The repercussions on traffic were very heavy, as the superhighway 36 was the main road connecting with the Altolago, Valtellina and Valchiavenna, in a day of exodus from Milan and Brianza.
Anas who specified that the closure was necessary to allow the technicians to check the neighboring rocky slope, which is the responsibility of the territorial entities, in order to ensure the safety and cleaning of the area and the road below.
