At the end of the 19th century, Parisians loved this region between stone, water and nature where they came on holiday, even for a simple weekend, thanks to the railway line put into service between the capital and Auvers- sur-Oise which they reached in an hour.
Its landscapes have also inspired many painters who have made it one of the high places of Impressionism.
