A couple in their seventh decade bought a new apartment next door for their children.

The apartment they purchased was old, and the request was to destroy the existing one and design a modern and practical space that would suit their lifestyle.

The apartment underwent a massive renovation that included replacing all the infrastructure, and converting the apartment from three bedrooms to two.

The apartment before the renovation included a closed kitchen, three dark bedrooms, and two small bathrooms.

The architectural design offered an option for a modern apartment that includes an open public space that allows for comfortable accommodation when all the family members gather together.

The couple connected to the modern style and the practical line offered by the architectural design.

All interior walls were demolished and rebuilt in accordance with the tenants who purchased the apartment,

Beyond a pleasant and comfortable space for entertaining, the owners of the house wanted to give expression to their private collection of art and souvenirs, which they have collected over the years from trips and visits to different parts of the world.

This is how the makeover was planned

The palette of shades: The palette of shades is based on monochromatic shades with the aim of emphasizing the diverse and colorful collection items of the members of the house, and to create an adaptation to a modern architectural language.

The palette of materials: a combination of industrial materials such as Corian for the work surfaces in the kitchen, wall cladding with concrete tiles in the bathrooms, next to utility cabinets covered with natural oak veneer, wardrobe doors painted in the oven, and textiles in different and soft textures.

A combination of materials that balances and connects the choices into an interesting and unique fabric.

The public space of the dining area, the living room and the kitchen is a wide triangle that allows all family members to spend time together.

The possibility to engage in different activities and still be part of the shared family experience was what led the design concept.

During the renovation, all the aluminum windows, interior doors and the front door were replaced.

Next to the living room, a green and well-kept balcony that is a continuation of the living room.

the kitchen

A precise combination of colors and materials between wood and metal, between dark and light, created a balanced space that is pleasing to the eye,

The new kitchen was designed as an open space, in contrast to the outdated kitchen before the renovation, which was enclosed between walls and created a feeling of crowding and crowding.

The new kitchen includes a wall of floor-to-ceiling cupboards, in which the electrical appliances and the contents of the kitchen utensils are integrated.

In addition, a utility closet was designed where a washing machine and dryer are stored.

In order to increase the work area in the kitchen, a place to sit and work was planned in the center of the kitchen, which allows for comfortable and accessible work even when the grandchildren come and ask to work together in the kitchen.

The kitchen island allows you to sit around it from all directions, and enjoy a different view each time.

The dining area

The dining area after the renovation received its own place in the space, as an addition to the dining counter planned in the kitchen,

During the renovation, the outdated low ceilings were eliminated in the entire apartment, and the bedroom next to the living room was eliminated.

Thanks to these, today the owners of the house enjoy a wider public space that can accommodate a large dining area that opens and a black iron bookcase that is a worthy place for the eclectic collections from their travels in India and Japan.

The space was indeed designed as a wide, bright and ventilated space.

The location of the guest services is separated from the private area of the apartment, so it is located in an accessible and convenient way for house guests.
